The XPRE441 treats one blemish at a time rather than the whole face. The patch is a small silicone disc that adheres over the spot with a gel pad, so the diodes sit a few millimetres from the skin instead of across a whole treatment area.

It is one of the few devices in this range with a published irradiance figure: 40 mW/cm² from 660 nm red and 415 nm blue diodes. Ask us for the measurement distance in writing — irradiance is meaningless without it, and it is the number buyers compare first.

There are three settings — red and blue together, red alone, blue alone — and the patch steps through them every five minutes, shutting off after fifteen. Touching the face for two seconds starts or stops a session, and the last mode used is remembered, so a repeat session is one touch.

The case is the other half of the product: it holds the patch, recharges it over USB-C, and closes into a mirror. A 650 mAh cell in the case carries several sessions before it needs charging itself.

1. Touch the patch for about 2 seconds to switch on. It starts in the last mode used, or red + blue the first time.

2. Tap to change mode: red + blue, red, blue. The patch moves to the next mode every five minutes by itself.

3. After fifteen minutes it switches off. Touch for 2 seconds at any point to stop early.

4. Put the patch back in the case to charge. The patch light flashes green while charging and stays green when full; the case shows red while charging and blue when full.
